History of AURES Technologies

At RMS, we understand the many factors that go into the purchasing decisions of retailers: affordability, reliability, user-friendliness, attractiveness and environmental footprint. As a result of this, we carefully curate a product range of exceptional hardware and software suited for all retail environments facing the challenges of 2022 and beyond. In this series we’ll be focusing on some of the manufacturers of the hardware we sell, starting with the AURES Technologies– a company approaching 35 years of success.

AURES Technologies offer cutting-edge EPoS hardware – attractive, reliable and well-engineered – ready for any retail or hospitality environment. From elegant terminals like the AURES Sango, Yuno and Nino to high-quality peripherals such as AURES cash drawers, customer displays, receipt printers, touchscreens and kiosks.

Headquartered in the stunning municipality of Evry – just south of Paris – AURES was founded by Patrick Cathala in 1989.  Having been listed on the EuroNext stock exchange since 1999 AURES has grown to establish a global presence with subsidiaries in the UK, Germany, Australia and the USA – and a network of distributors and resellers in over 75 countries. RMS is served in the UK by AURES Technologies Ltd. In 2018, AURES exceeded global sales of €100 million and purchased RTG (Retail Technology Group) – a major player in the US POS market.

Award Winning Design

In 2005, AURES launched the Odyssey – a vibrant and colourful EPoS that represented a shift in the market from purely practical devices to attractive EPoS systems that could add a flourish to the interior design of any shop.

Since then, AURES’ creativity has been acknowledged by a number of awards bodies, including IF Product Design awards (late 2012), the Red Dot awards 2013, together with an “Observeur du Design” label award and a Good Design award from the Chicago Athenaeum Design Museum (2014).

AURES Yuno B Terminal

The new AURES YUNO B EPoS is an upgrade to the original YUNO POS system and is stylish, compact and robust. This high-performance terminal offers a choice between 3 different processors and 2 formats (traditional 4:3 15.1’’ screen and a wide 16:9 15.6’’ screen) and incorporates a shock-proof and scratch-proof, multi-touch, projected, capacitive screen using 10 point PCAP technology.

AURES ODP444 Thermal Receipt Printer

The AURES ODP444 Thermal Receipt Printer is available in two models which have different multi-interface options, including WiFi and Bluetooth. The ODP444 can be turned over on the sales counter to offer a dual paper output: vertical (output located on the top cover of the printer) and front, depending on the chosen configuration and the space available at the point of sale.

AURES PS 82 Scanner

The 2D, hands free AURES PS 82 Scanner and reading module excel at reading barcodes on smartphones, tablets or computer screens which allows the scanner to decode poorly printed barcodes and assists users to intuitively read the codes to be scanned.

AURES 3S430 Front Loading Cash Drawer

The AURES 3S430 Cash Drawer incorporates a removable spacer system for 8 types of notes and 8 types of coins. The two slots to the front are ideal for receipts, cheques and removable inserts. This cash drawer features rounded edges and steel clips to hold down notes and is available to order in black or beige.

Product Spotlight: AURES Nino Bundle

AURES Nino II Terminal

Perfectly suited for most retail and hospitality sectors, particularly when space is limited, the AURES NINO II EPOS System’s unique design adapts to all viewing angles and can even be carried easily when tucked under your arm.

With a 14-inch, 16:9 format style touchscreen (choose from PCAP or resistive touch panel) this terminal is designed to be no bigger than a small desktop but includes full EPoS functionalities. Fully adjustable thanks to its flexible swing arm attached to the die-cast aluminium base, this terminal can be folded flat or adjusted to all viewing angles up to 90° and can be used flat like a console, on its base, or mounted on a wall or pole (mounting accessories and VESA fixings are available).

AURES ODP444 Thermal Receipt Printer

The AURES ODP444 Thermal Receipt Printer is available in two different versions: the first has a triple USB / RS232C / Ethernet interface while the second also integrates WiFi and Bluetooth for wireless and mobile technologies at the point of sale.

This compact and flexible printer can be switched from one side to the other to offer two options for ticket output: front paper output (located on the front side) or hood output (on the top cover of the device), depending on the needs of the user.

AURES POSLigne PS 50 II Laser Scanner

The AURES POSLigne PS 50 II is a low cost yet highly functional, ergonomic scanner and is automatically managed when on its base. During handheld use, barcodes can be scanned using the control trigger. The AURES POSLigne PS-50 II Laser Scanner is available in pearl or graphite and uses USB connection.

AURES 3S430 Front Loading Cash Drawer

The AURES 3S430 Front Loading Cash Drawer connects directly to the EPoS Printer or EPoS System via a cable which provides power to the unit directly.

It works with 12 or 24-volt interfaces and can be desk mounted or use a custom bracket (sold separately). This cash drawer can accommodate 8 types of notes and 8 types of coins.
