Retail Technology Show 2026 recap | OpSuite and retail technology in action

The Retail Technology Show 2026 once again proved why it is the UK’s flagship event for retail innovation. Held at ExCeL London across two busy days in April, the show brought together more than 15,000 senior retail professionals and over 450 technology suppliers, creating a highly focused environment for real conversations about the future of retail operations.

For RMS, RTS2026 was a strong opportunity to engage with retailers & wholesalers who were not browsing ideas but actively reviewing EPoS, self service and in‑store technology investments. The quality of conversations, combined with live demonstrations of OpSuite running on modern retail hardware, reinforced the value of showing complete, working solutions rather than abstract concepts.

High quality visitors with clear objectives

Footfall across the show was consistently strong, but more importantly, the intent of visitors stood out. Many retailers arrived on the stand with specific challenges already defined, including queue management, staff efficiency, real‑time visibility and future‑proofing their store estates.
Rather than early‑stage research, conversations focused on deployment timelines, integration with existing systems and how solutions would perform in real trading environments. This reflected a wider trend at RTS2026, with retailers prioritising technology that delivers measurable outcomes and can be implemented with confidence.

OpSuite Retail Operations Software feedback

OpSuite Retail Operations Software generated strong interest throughout the event. Visitors responded positively to the clarity of the interface, the depth of reporting and the ability to manage sales, stock and performance across single or multi‑site operations from one platform.
Live demonstrations played a key role in these discussions. Seeing OpSuite running in real time helped retailers quickly understand how the platform supports faster decision‑making, improves operational visibility and reduces reliance on manual processes. For many visitors, this hands‑on experience helped move conversations from possibility to practicality.
Retailers also valued the flexibility of OpSuite, particularly its suitability for businesses at different stages of growth. Whether operating a single store or managing a nationwide estate, visitors could clearly see how the platform scales without unnecessary complexity.

Hardware that supported the conversation

The hardware showcased on the stand was central to driving engagement. The ADVANTECH-AURES YUNO C demonstrated that compact point of sale terminals can still deliver enterprise‑grade performance, reliability and a professional in‑store presence. Retailers appreciated its small footprint, speed and suitability for space‑constrained counters without compromising capability.
Equally strong interest was shown in the ADVANTECH‑AURES KRYSTAL Kiosk in countertop mode. Many retailers saw this as a practical entry point into self service, offering queue reduction and guided selling benefits without the commitment of a full height kiosk installation. Discussions frequently centred on improving customer flow, increasing basket value and supporting staff during peak trading periods.
Crucially, visitors responded well to seeing hardware and software working together as a complete solution. This integrated approach helped reinforce RMS’s role as a partner that understands how technology is actually used on the shop floor.

A clear takeaway from RTS2026

RTS2026 reinforced a clear message from the retail market. Retailers are actively investing in technology, but only where it delivers clarity, speed and confidence. The positive response to OpSuite and the hardware on the stand confirmed strong alignment with these priorities and created valuable follow‑up opportunities after the show.
