The Newland FM3281 Grouper is a fixed-mount scanner for barcode, OCR and NFC capture at retail counters, kiosks and other embedded installations. Its flush glass front, wide reading field and automatic trigger sensors support hands-free operation in demanding indoor or outdoor locations.

- 1D, 2D and OCR Reading: The scanner reads major barcode formats and supports passport, ID card and travel-permit OCR.
- 1280 x 1088 CMOS Sensor: The high-resolution imager captures printed and on-screen codes with a minimum supported resolution of 3 mil.
- Automatic Triggering: Infrared and light sensors activate reading as a code is presented, even when ambient light changes.
- NFC Support: Integrated NFC reads supported cards and compatible contactless devices at distances up to 30 mm.
